6. Discuss, consider and take action on Meals on Wheels
request for financial support from the City of Seymour.

Gerald Wiles addressed the council in regards to the utility bills for the Meals on Wheels program/building.  Gerald related that due to some difficulties this last year, the Housing Authority has withdrawn some of their support to the Meals on Wheels program in the form of utilities they pay for the Senior Citizen Building.  Gerald made a prior request in the form of a letter to the city council, requesting a $9,000 annual donation, to be paid to the Housing Authority to take care of the utility bills.  Gerald compiled some figures from the electric meter readings’, showing what he feels is used by the Meals on Wheels program and it was compared to what the Housing Authority wants to charge them for utilities.

After much discussion, the council advised Gerald
to present his information to the Housing Authority Board.

Motion:
A motion was made by council member Rose Tankersley to table this issue
until the July meeting, seconded by council member Donald Coltharp.

Vote on the Motion:
Passed unanimously.
