REGULAR MEETING
SEYMOUR CITY COUNCIL
JULY 16, 2009

 
A Regular City Council Meeting was held at  7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2009, at the Portwood Arts and Civic Center, 800 E. Morris, Seymour, Texas 76380.
 
Call to Order/ Roll Call by Mayor Ronald B. Reeves at 7:05 p. m.
 
Council Present:
Mayor Ronald B. Reeves, MPT Sid Winn, Council Member Billy Henricks, Council Member David Horton and Council Member Nan Gilbert-Mathis.
 
Council Absent:
Donald G. Coltharp
 
Staff Present:
City Administrator Joe Shephard, City Secretary Conchita Torrez
and Code Compliance Enforcer John Byrket.
 
Pledge of Allegiance:
Mayor Reeves led the Pledge of Allegiance.
 
Announcements from the Mayor: Mayor Reeves stated several citizens had expressed their concerns over the situation at the park concerning the weeds and such. He spoke with a representative from TXDOT who stated that the mitigation program was under contract for 5 years.  TXDOT had been at the park cleaning some of the area up. Mayor stated that the process will take at least two years to see some progress and we just need to be patient.

No one in the audience had any questions or comments.
 
 Consent Agenda:
 
1. CONSIDER APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA AS FOLLOWS:

a. Approve Tuesday, June 23, 2009 Regular Meeting Minutes
 
b. Approve City Council report for City Bills paid in June, 2009.
 
c. Accept Reports          

1. Monthly Investment Report

2. First National Bank Accounts- Summary Report

3. Employee List

4. Salt Fork Membership Report Total

d. Accept and approve the City of Seymour, Texas, FiscalYear
2008-2009, Quarter 3 Investment Report, as presented by the
Investment Officers.
 
e. Discuss, consider and take action to change the
Council Meeting in August, from the 20th, August 18th, due to
City Secretary attending school in Irving.

Motion:
A motion was made by Council Member Nan Gilbert-Mathis,
seconded by MPT Sid Winn, to accept the consent agenda as presented by City Staff.

 
Vote on Motion:
passed unanimously.
