2. Discuss, consider and take action on request from Lita Slaggle, Baylor County Free Library, for financial support in the amount of $500.00, for their Top of Texas membership program.
Mrs. Lita Slaggle asked to address the council and stated that due to a grant she had
received earlier in the week, she would like to withdraw her request for financial support
in the amount of $500.00.
No motion was needed due to the withdrawal.
3. Discuss, consider and take action on appeal by Greg Miller under Article 7.200, Section 7.204, Property Maintenance Requirements.
Mr. Greg Miller did not attend the meeting.
Motion:
Motion made by MPT Sid Winn, seconded by Council Member Billy Henricks,
to table this agenda item and look further into the matter.
Vote on Motion:
passed unanimously.
4. Discuss, consider and take action to appoint a
Council Member to the Tax Appraisal Board.
No motion was needed on this line item as Council Member Nan
Gilbert-Mathis volunteered to serve on the Tax Appraisal Board.
5. Discuss, consider and give direction to
City Staff concerning the 2009-2010 budget.
City Administrator Joe Shephard addressed the council and went over the proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2009-2010. Council gave direction to City Staff on the following to be continued as financial support from the City of Seymour:
Baylor County Action Group - $ 3,000.00
Chamber of Commerce - $ 3,600.00
Also, Mrs. Lita Slaggle addressed the Council requesting additional funds for the
Seymour Baylor County Free Library. A total of $4,200.00 as annual support this year
was requested. Council asked Mr. Shephard that the request be placed in the
proposed budget and be considered.
6. Discuss, consider and take action on traffic control device on Custer Street, i.e. / stop signs, speed bumps or yield signs.
After much discussion by Mayor, Council and City Staff, Council agreed for
Chief Tommy Duncan and City Administrator Joe Shephard to see what will be the
safest and best traffic control device(s) concerning Custer Street. An ordinance
will be passed in the near future concerning this matter.
7. Adjournment
Motion made by MPT Winn and seconded by Council Member David Horton to adjourn at 8:41 p.m., and passed unanimously.
