A Regular City Council Meeting was held on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the Portwood
Arts & Civic Center, 800 E. Morris, Seymour, Texas 76380.

CALL TO ORDER/ ROLL CALL
by Mayor Dan Craighead at 7:00 p.m.
Council Present: Mayor Dan Craighead, Council Member Donald Coltharp,
MTP Rose Tankersley, Council Member Billy Henricks, and Council Member Sid Winn.

Council Absent:
Nan Gilbert –Mathis

Counsel Present:
None

Staff Present:
City Administrator Joe Shephard, City Secretary Conchita Torrez,
Economic Development Director John Studer, Chief of Police Tommy Duncan,

Guests:
Bill Scantlin, Ronald Reeves, David Horton, Payton Henricks and Lauren Bush.

Allegiance:
Mayor Dan Craighead led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Consider approving the consent agenda as follows:

Consent Agenda:
(a.) Approve February 19, 2009; Regular Meeting Minutes.
(b.) Approve the bills dated February 18, and February 27, 2009.
(c.) Accept Reports:
1. Monthly Investment Report
2. 1st National Bank Accounts report
3. Employee List
4. Golf Course Membership Report

End of Consent Agenda

Motion:
A motion was made by Council Member Donald Coltharp to accept the consent agenda, with correction made on the February 19, 2009, meeting minutes, changing the
word ‘buying’ to ‘retaining’ on agenda item #8, seconded by Council Member Sid Winn.

Vote on motion:
passed unanimously.

2. Discuss, consider and hear presentation from Bill Scantlin,
Workforce Solution Employee Service Representative, regarding the Seymour Chamber of Commerce.

Bill Scantlin addressed the Mayor and Council relating the conditions of the Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Scantlin stated he has been working with the board with new ideas and trying to revitalize the Chamber. Mr. Scantlin also requested that the Council reconsider initiating the monthly support that the City had withdrawn last year.

Mayor Dan Craighead requested it be placed on April’s agenda.
