3. Conduct a Public Hearing to consider Resolution adopting a budget for the City of Seymour for the Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2008 and ending September 30, 2009.


No one spoke for or against Budget Resolution.

4. Conduct a Public Hearing to consider Ordinance establishing the ad valorem levy tax rate for the City of Seymour for Fiscal Year 2008-2009 at .40010/per 100 dollar valuation, which is lower than the effective tax rate of .42674/$100, and representing a levy of .26385/100 for Operations and Maintenance, with a .13625/100 for interest and sinking, by conducting a formal ‘voice vote’ of the Ordinance.

Motion:
A Motion was made by MPT Rose Tankersley, and seconded by Council Member Donald Coltharp, to approve Resolution No. 1298, adopting a budget for the City of Seymour, Texas for the Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2008, and ending September 30, 2009.

Vote On Motion:
passed unanimously.

6. Discuss, consider and take action to adopt
Ordinance No. 2008-08, establishing the ad valorem levy tax rate for the City of Seymour, for Fiscal Year 2008-2009 at .40010/per 100 dollar valuation, which is lower that the effective tax rate of .42674/$100, representing a levy of .26385/100, for Operations and Maintenance, with

A motion was made by Council Member Donald Coltharp, and seconded by Council Member Nan Gilbert Mathis, to approve Resolution No. 1299, for over/under 5K$ and to amend Res. No. 1286, the FY 2007-2008, Budget Resolution, for the City of Seymour, Texas.

8. Discuss, consider and take action regarding extension of contract between the City of Seymour and Steve Young, for maintenance and cleaning at the Portwood Art and Civic Center, 800 E. Morris, Seymour, Texas, for a term of service beginning October 1, 2008 and ending September 30, 2009.

Motion:
A motion was made by Council Member Donald Coltharp, and seconded by
MPT Rose Tankersley, to approve the maintenance contract for one year between the
City of Seymour and Steve Young.
