Seymour City Council
January 8, 2010

A Special Called City Council Meeting was held on Friday, January 8, 2010, at 12:00 noon, at 301 N. Washington Street, City Hall, Upstairs Conference Room, Seymour, Texas 76380.

Call to Order/Roll Call
by Mayor Reeves at 12:05 p.m.

Council Present:
Mayor Ronald B. Reeves, Council Member Donald Coltharp, Council Member David Horton, Council Member Nan Gilbert-Mathis, and Council Member Billy Henricks.

Council Absent:
MPT Sid Winn

Counsel Present:
none

Staff Present:
City Secretary Conchita Torrez, Finance Director Mary Griffin,
Department Head Supervisors, Rick Garcia, Brad Tilley, Adam Sturgeon,
Chief of Police Tommy Duncan, Greg Shumate, Dale Hulcy,
and John Studer, Economic Development Director.

Pledge of Allegiance
was led by Mayor Ronald B. Reeves.

Mayor Reeves choose to begin with Agenda Item #2.

1. Discuss, consider and take action regarding information received from Electric Supervisor Brad Tilley, regarding Digger Truck.

2. Discuss, consider and take action accepting an amendment,
regarding the contract between Choice Wireless and
City of Seymour, Texas.

Mayor explained that due to Choice Wireless having to meet mandated requirements with the State’s E-911 Phase II request, Choice Wireless upgrades were necessary. Therefore, the contract between the City of Seymour, Texas and Choice Wireless would have the necessary amendment, added to the current contract.

Motion:
Motion made by Council Member Donald Coltharp and seconded by
Council Member Billy Henricks to accept the amendment as presented by Choice Wireless.

Vote on Motion:
passed unanimously.

At this time Mayor Reeves presented
Agenda Item #1 to Council and Staff.

1. Discuss, consider and take action regarding information
received from Electric Department Supervisor Brad Tilley.

After much deliberation concerning the request of a
digger truck by Brad Tilley and Council, a motion was made.

Motion:
Motion made by Council Member Coltharp and seconded by Nan Gilbert Mathis
to purchase digger truck, providing, that the bank information received will be an acceptable price to the City of Seymour, Texas, along with the 2 year warranty contract.
Price of Digger Truck was $43,988.02.

Vote on Motion:
passed unanimously.

Adjournment was made by Mayor Ronald Reeves and
seconded by Council Member Henricks at 1:09 p.m. Passed unanimously.
